Agreement to our Terms

These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) form a legally binding agreement between you, whether personally or on behalf of an organisation (“you”), and JobMaxxer (“JobMaxxer”, “we”, “us” or “our”) regarding your access to and use of our website, Chrome extension, AI application tools, overlay features and related products or services together referred to as the “Services”.

JobMaxxer is an AI tool for job applications. It helps students, recent graduates and job seekers complete job applications faster by reading questions on application portals and drafting recruiter-ready answers based on the user’s CV, experience, education and preferred writing style.

JobMaxxer may work on or alongside third-party job application platforms, including Workday, LinkedIn Easy Apply, Greenhouse, Lever, iCIMS, Taleo, SuccessFactors, Ashby and similar sites. JobMaxxer is not affiliated with, endorsed by or officially connected to any of those platforms unless we clearly state otherwise.

By accessing or using the Services, you confirm that you have read, understood and agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree with these Terms, you must not use the Services.

We recommend that you save or print a copy of these Terms for your records.

1. Our Services

JobMaxxer provides software designed to help users draft, improve, regenerate and insert job application answers.

The Services may include:

  • a website;
  • a Chrome extension;
  • account creation and sign-in features;
  • CV or resume upload and parsing;
  • structured career profile creation;
  • AI-generated application answers;
  • one-click answer insertion;
  • answer regeneration;
  • support for competency, motivational, situational, strengths-based and “why this company” questions;
  • overlay features for video-style, assessment-style or screen-based application questions;
  • free or paid plans;
  • customer support and related resources.

JobMaxxer is designed to support your job application process, but it does not apply for jobs on your behalf, guarantee interviews, guarantee job offers or make hiring decisions.

You remain responsible for reviewing, editing and approving any answer before submitting it to an employer, recruiter or job application platform.

2. Eligibility

The Services are intended for users who are at least 16 years old.

If you are under 18, you should only use the Services with permission from a parent or legal guardian. If you purchase a paid plan or subscription, you confirm that you are legally able to enter into a contract or that you have permission from a parent, guardian or authorised person.

By using the Services, you confirm that:

  • you have the legal capacity to agree to these Terms;
  • you will use the Services only for lawful purposes;
  • the information you provide to us is accurate and current;
  • you will not use the Services in a way that breaches applicable law, these Terms or the rights of others.

3. User Accounts

You may need to create an account to access some or all parts of JobMaxxer.

When creating an account, you agree to provide accurate, complete and current information. You are responsible for keeping your login details secure and confidential.

You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account, unless the activity results from our failure to use reasonable security measures.

You must not share your account with another person unless your plan clearly allows this.

We may suspend or terminate your account if we believe that:

  • you have breached these Terms;
  • your account is being used fraudulently or unlawfully;
  • your account creates a security risk;
  • you have provided false or misleading information;
  • your use of the Services may harm JobMaxxer, other users or third parties.

4. Your Use of JobMaxxer

Subject to your compliance with these Terms, we grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to access and use the Services for your own job search, career development and application-related purposes.

You may use JobMaxxer to help draft and improve application answers, but you remain responsible for the final content you submit.

You agree that you will not use JobMaxxer to:

  • fabricate qualifications, employment history, education, achievements, right-to-work status, references or other material application details;
  • submit information that you know is false or misleading;
  • impersonate another person;
  • apply for roles on behalf of someone else without permission;
  • breach the terms of any employer, recruiter or application platform;
  • complete assessments in a way that is unlawful, dishonest or expressly prohibited by the relevant employer or platform;
  • misuse the overlay feature on unrelated private, confidential or restricted pages.

5. AI-Generated Content

JobMaxxer uses artificial intelligence to generate draft answers and suggestions.

AI-generated content may be based on:

  • your CV or structured career profile;
  • your education and work experience;
  • the application question;
  • the job title or job description;
  • your preferred answer style;
  • visible screen text when you use the overlay feature;
  • instructions or context you provide.

AI-generated content may not always be accurate, complete, appropriate or suitable for a particular employer or application. You should always check and edit any generated content before using it.

JobMaxxer does not guarantee that any generated answer will lead to an interview, job offer, improved application outcome or successful assessment result.

You are responsible for the content you submit to employers, recruiters and job application platforms.

6. Chrome Extension and Overlay Features

The JobMaxxer Chrome extension is designed to work inside job application pages.

When you use the extension, it may read relevant page content such as application questions, answer boxes, word limits, job descriptions, employer names, role titles, assessment prompts or visible screen text needed to provide the Services.

The extension may also insert generated answers into application fields when you choose to click “Insert” or use a similar feature.

Private API keys are not shipped inside the Chrome extension. AI generation runs server-side, meaning relevant information is sent securely to JobMaxxer’s servers for generation and then returned to you.

You must not attempt to extract, reverse engineer, expose, misuse or interfere with the extension, API connections, server-side systems or any security-related feature of JobMaxxer.

You should only use the overlay feature on job application, assessment or interview-related pages. You should not use it on pages containing unrelated private, sensitive or confidential information.

7. Your Content and Data

You may upload, paste, type or otherwise provide content to JobMaxxer, including your CV, resume, cover letter, education history, work experience, skills, achievements, job descriptions, application questions and draft answers.

This is referred to as “User Content”.

You retain ownership of your User Content. We do not claim ownership of your CV, resume, work history, application answers or personal career materials.

By providing User Content to JobMaxxer, you grant us a limited licence to use, process, host, store, copy, analyse and transmit that content only as needed to:

  • provide the Services;
  • generate application answers;
  • parse your CV into structured career data;
  • operate the Chrome extension and overlay;
  • improve, secure and maintain the Services;
  • provide support;
  • comply with legal obligations.

Your CV may be parsed into structured career data so JobMaxxer can generate personalised answers. The raw CV file can be discarded after parsing where possible, while the structured data needed to provide the Services may remain in your account unless you delete it.

Where one-click deletion is available, you can delete your data at any time. You may also request deletion using the contact details in these Terms or our Privacy Policy.

8. Intellectual Property Rights

We own or licence all rights in JobMaxxer, including the website, Chrome extension, software, source code, databases, product design, user interface, branding, logos, graphics, text, features, workflows, systems and other materials that form part of the Services.

The name “JobMaxxer”, our branding, product design and related marks are owned by us or licensed to us.

You must not copy, reproduce, modify, distribute, sell, license, publicly display, reverse engineer, scrape, create derivative works from or exploit any part of the Services except as allowed by these Terms or with our written permission.

Nothing in these Terms transfers ownership of our intellectual property to you.

9. Feedback and Suggestions

If you send us feedback, ideas, suggestions, feature requests or comments about JobMaxxer, you agree that we may use them without restriction or payment to you.

This does not give us ownership of your CV, application answers or personal career materials. It only applies to feedback or suggestions you provide about the product itself.

10. Purchases, Payments and Subscriptions

JobMaxxer may offer free access, paid plans, subscriptions, premium features, trials or usage-based limits.

If paid plans are available, prices, features and billing periods will be shown before you purchase.

You agree to provide accurate billing and payment information. Payments may be processed by a third-party payment provider.

We do not intend to store full card details on our own systems. Payment providers may process your payment information under their own terms and privacy policies.

If you subscribe to a paid plan, your subscription may renew automatically unless you cancel before the renewal date.

Unless stated otherwise, cancellation will take effect at the end of your current billing period.

We may change our prices or subscription features from time to time. Where required, we will give you notice of material changes before they apply.

11. Free Plans, Trials and Promotions

JobMaxxer may offer a free plan, free trial, beta access, student offer or promotional access.

We may change, limit, suspend or withdraw free plans, trials or promotions at any time, provided this does not affect any legal rights you may have.

If a free trial converts into a paid subscription, we will aim to make the relevant pricing and billing terms clear before you are charged.

12. Cancellations and Refunds

Your cancellation and refund rights may depend on your location, the type of plan you purchase and the nature of the digital service provided.

If you are a UK or EU consumer, you may have certain statutory rights when buying digital content or services online.

Where the law gives you cancellation rights, we will respect those rights. However, where you request immediate access to digital content or digital services, you may lose certain cancellation rights once the service has started or been fully performed, where permitted by law.

Nothing in these Terms affects your statutory consumer rights.

13. Prohibited Activities

You agree not to:

  • use the Services for any unlawful purpose;
  • use the Services to create or submit false, misleading or fraudulent job applications;
  • misrepresent your qualifications, work experience, education, achievements or right to work;
  • use JobMaxxer to impersonate another person;
  • share, sell, rent or transfer your account without permission;
  • attempt to access another user’s account;
  • upload malware, viruses, harmful code or malicious files;
  • interfere with the security or operation of the Services;
  • attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble or copy the software;
  • scrape, data mine or systematically extract content from the Services;
  • use bots, scripts or automated tools to abuse the Services;
  • bypass usage limits, payment systems or security features;
  • use JobMaxxer to build or train a competing product without written permission;
  • copy our website, extension, workflows, prompts, interface or branding;
  • use the overlay feature on unrelated private or confidential pages;
  • use the Services in a way that breaches third-party platform rules;
  • harass, abuse, threaten or harm any person through the Services;
  • upload or transmit content that is defamatory, discriminatory, hateful, obscene, abusive or unlawful;
  • violate any intellectual property, privacy or other rights of third parties.

If you breach these rules, we may suspend or terminate your access to the Services.

14. Third-Party Websites and Job Platforms

JobMaxxer may work on or link to third-party websites, including job boards, employer websites and application platforms.

Third-party websites and platforms are not controlled by JobMaxxer. Their own terms, privacy policies and rules apply.

When you use JobMaxxer on a third-party platform:

  • JobMaxxer may read relevant application content to generate an answer;
  • JobMaxxer may insert content into a field when you choose to do so;
  • you remain responsible for reviewing and submitting the final application;
  • the third-party platform or employer may collect and process anything you submit.

We are not responsible for third-party websites, job platforms, employer decisions, recruiter actions, application outcomes, platform availability, platform rules or any loss caused by your use of a third-party service.

15. Privacy Policy

Your use of JobMaxxer is also governed by our Privacy Policy.

Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, protect and delete personal information, including CV data, structured career profiles, generated answers, Chrome extension data and overlay-related content.

16. Service Management

We reserve the right to manage the Services in a way that protects JobMaxxer, our users and our systems.

This may include:

  • monitoring usage for security, abuse and performance;
  • enforcing usage limits;
  • removing harmful content;
  • suspending accounts that breach these Terms;
  • investigating misuse;
  • updating or changing features;
  • restricting access to certain features;
  • taking action to protect our intellectual property and legal rights.

17. Service Changes and Availability

We may update, improve, modify, suspend or discontinue parts of the Services at any time.

We aim to keep JobMaxxer available and reliable, but we cannot guarantee that the Services will always be available, uninterrupted, secure or error-free.

The Services may be unavailable due to maintenance, updates, technical issues, third-party provider failures, internet disruption, security incidents or circumstances outside our control.

We are not liable for loss or inconvenience caused by temporary unavailability, delays, bugs or interruptions, except where the law says otherwise.

18. Term and Termination

These Terms remain in effect while you use the Services.

You may stop using JobMaxxer at any time. You may also request account deletion where available.

We may suspend or terminate your account or access to the Services if:

  • you breach these Terms;
  • you misuse the Services;
  • you fail to pay fees owed, where applicable;
  • your use creates legal, security or operational risk;
  • we are required to do so by law;
  • we discontinue the Services or a major part of them.

After termination, your right to use the Services ends immediately.

Sections that by their nature should continue after termination will continue, including intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, user responsibilities, privacy-related provisions, governing law and dispute resolution.

19. Disclaimers

The Services are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we do not guarantee that:

  • JobMaxxer will always be available;
  • JobMaxxer will be error-free or uninterrupted;
  • AI-generated content will always be accurate or appropriate;
  • your applications will be successful;
  • you will receive interviews or job offers;
  • an employer or recruiter will respond positively;
  • the Services will meet every requirement you have;
  • the Services will be compatible with every job platform or website.

JobMaxxer is an application-support tool. It is not professional career advice, legal advice, immigration advice, financial advice or recruitment advice.

You should use your own judgement before submitting any answer or application.

20. Limitation of Liability

Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation or any rights you have as a consumer that cannot be excluded by law.

Subject to the above, JobMaxxer will not be liable for:

  • loss of profits;
  • loss of revenue;
  • loss of business;
  • loss of employment opportunity;
  • loss of anticipated savings;
  • loss of goodwill;
  • loss of data;
  • business interruption;
  • indirect or consequential loss;
  • decisions made by employers, recruiters or job platforms;
  • unsuccessful applications;
  • your failure to review or edit generated content;
  • use of the Services in breach of these Terms;
  • issues caused by third-party websites, platforms or providers.

If you have paid for the Services, our total liability to you for any claim related to the Services will be limited to the amount you paid to JobMaxxer in the 12 months before the claim arose, unless applicable law requires otherwise.

If you use the Services for free, our total liability to you will be limited to £100, unless applicable law requires otherwise.

21. Indemnity

If you use the Services on behalf of a business or organisation, you agree to indemnify and hold JobMaxxer harmless from losses, claims, damages, liabilities, costs and expenses arising from:

  • your breach of these Terms;
  • your misuse of the Services;
  • your User Content;
  • your breach of third-party rights;
  • your breach of applicable law;
  • your use of JobMaxxer in connection with another person’s job application.

If you are a consumer, this section applies only to the extent permitted by law.

22. Electronic Communications

By using the Services, creating an account, submitting forms or contacting us electronically, you agree to receive communications from us electronically.

We may contact you by email, in-product notice, website notice or other electronic means.

Electronic communications satisfy any legal requirement that communications be in writing, unless applicable law requires another method.

23. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.

If you are a consumer, you may also benefit from mandatory consumer protection laws in the country where you live.

24. Dispute Resolution

If you have a complaint or dispute with us, please contact us first so we can try to resolve it informally.

If a dispute cannot be resolved informally, the courts of England and Wales will have jurisdiction, except where applicable consumer law gives you the right to bring a claim in another country or region.

26. Data Deletion and Account Closure

Deletion may be subject to our Privacy Policy and any legal, security, fraud prevention, accounting or dispute-resolution obligations that require us to retain limited information.

27. Responsible Use of JobMaxxer

JobMaxxer is designed to help genuine job seekers create stronger application answers based on their real experience.

You should use JobMaxxer responsibly.

You agree that:

  • you will review generated answers before submitting them;
  • you will not knowingly submit false information;
  • you will not use JobMaxxer to deceive employers or recruiters;
  • you will respect the rules of job platforms and employers;
  • you will not use the Services to harm other people;
  • you will not rely on JobMaxxer as a guarantee of employment;
  • you remain responsible for the final application you submit.

JobMaxxer is there to help you move from a blank box to a strong first draft, not to replace your judgement or responsibility.

28. Miscellaneous

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and any other legal notices posted by us, form the entire agreement between you and JobMaxxer regarding the Services.

If any part of these Terms is found to be unlawful or unenforceable, the remaining parts will continue to apply.

Our failure to enforce any part of these Terms does not mean we waive our right to enforce it later.

We may transfer our rights and obligations under these Terms to another organisation, for example if we restructure, merge, sell or transfer part of our business.

You may not transfer your rights or obligations under these Terms without our written permission.

Nothing in these Terms creates a partnership, joint venture, employment relationship or agency relationship between you and JobMaxxer.

29. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time.

If we make important changes, we may notify you by updating the “Last updated” date, posting a notice on our website, sending an email or showing an in-product notice.

Your continued use of the Services after updated Terms are posted means you accept the updated Terms.

If you do not agree to the updated Terms, you must stop using the Services.
